My Younger Looking Mum

My mum went for a facial treatment last week and she looks great! She opted for Botox, after many weeks of researching and decision-making, and couldn’t be more pleased with the results.

She turned 60 a couple of months ago; although I really believe she didn’t look it at all, but she felt the need to freshen up her face a little, and I suppose I will feel the same when I reach that milestone birthday.

I must admit to being a little dubious about Botox in general as it is of course botulinum toxin (BO-TOX), but it is no longer a new procedure and has been tried and tested by thousands, if not millions, of women (and men) worldwide. Anyway this was my mum’s decision and I decided to support in whatever she chose, and now I see the results I really believe she made the right choice. She looks absolutely great and definitely several years younger than she did before the treatment.

This is of course a treatment that wears off after a while and has to be repeated at intervals to remove wrinkles but she decided, and I have to agree, that this is preferable to “going under the knife” and having surgery. Particularly when you look at some of the famous faces that have had facial reconstruction surgery, and the unnatural look of their faces; many of them end up looking like plastic dolls, and I believe they looked far better before the surgery.

Many people ask why do women need to do anything at all, and why do they not just allow themselves to grow naturally. The answer to this I suppose is something that will only be understood when they reach that age for themselves; not everyone will feel the need but if they do, I hope they have the courage to go ahead and do exactly as they wish.
